"A unique draw point of Michelle's consultations are the extensive in consultation tests that she provides including BIA Analysis"
"Michelle also offers functional evidenced based testing options for her patients to help detect underlying imbalances"

Consultations
As a part of the consultation process with Michelle, the following in clinic tests are preformed:
  • Previous and New GP Blood testing interpretation (I have a special interest in looking at 'optimal' blood levels)
  • BIA Analysis (This provides you with an in-depth analysis of cellular health, the ageing process and body composition)
  • Zinc testing (For optimal health)
  • Adrenal Gland Reflex Testing (To asses the level of stress in the body)
  • Iridology (To asses personal inherited weaknesses)
  • Tongue, Hair, skin and nail screening (To uncover any underlying deficiencies, nutritional requirements or absorption issues)
  • Nutritional and Lifestyle advice
  • Herbal and Nutritional Supplementation (If indicated Michelle uses a thorough consultation process to assess your needs)

After your initial consultation, regular, shorter follow up appointments to document and monitor your progress and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment will also be recommended.
Initially these vary from 2-4 weeks.
Once your treatment plan has been consolidated, consultations are usually 2-6monthly.

Optional Further Testing Provided by Michelle
With more advances in science, at additional costs further testing strategies are available to take out the guess work and speed up your healing process.  These are discussed in consultation and include:

  • Comprehensive Stool Analysis (Often we require more specific and in depth testing to uncover bacteria imbalances, parasites etc which could be contributing to Digestive symptoms, mood problems, chronic fatigue or allergies)
  • Urinary and Saliva Hormone Testing (This is the best medium to assess hormone imbalances in the body.  We use the DUTCH test)
  • Adrenal Hormone Profile (Saliva 24 profiles remain on of the best ways to address how well the adrenal glands are functioning)
  • Thyroid Hormone Testing (This includes the full thyroid panel (TSH, T4, T3, Antibodies) which is the best way to detect thyroid imbalances which could be effecting your body) Often these aren't checked by your GP
  • Metagenomic (or whole genome) sequencing of the gut microbiome.
The MetaBiome™ utilises a comprehensive and up to date microbiome assessment technology, providing a complete picture of the bacteria within the gut and their functional potential. By sequencing the whole genome, the test can identify individual genes in the bacteria that may contribute to the function of that bacteria and the related influence on microbial and functional health.
  • Screening for Pylouria often associated with mental health problems.  (The kryptopyrroles test is a urine test that can be done at a lab in Adelaide or alternatively Michelle can asses some blood work to asses this)
  • Food Intolerance testing (IgA and IgG are measured in the blood to detect 'slient inflammation' happening in the body.  Often we can be reacting to foods 1-3 days after ingesting. It is a great way to investigate fatigue, ongoing digestive complaints, autoimmune conditions, leaky gut etc.  This can be performed in clinic or the comfort of your own home).
  • Heavy Metal Analysis (This is used to asses how toxic metals may be linked to your condition and effecting mineral status in the body)
  • The Omega-3 Index Test is a simple on-the-spot finger-prick test that measures the percentage of EPA and DHA in red blood cell (RBC) fatty acids. The test itself specifically measures: omega-3 index (total combined EPA and DHA); Omega-6:Omega-3 ratio; EPA:Arachidonic acid ratio; and total trans fats.

Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA)

Michelle is Trained in and an accredited user of the Bioelectrical Impedance Analyser (BIA) for Body Composition analysis and cellular health Analysis.  She is also Trained in the Bradford Blood Techniques (Live and Dry).  These tools are used in your personalised Consultation.  Michelle Continuously furthers her education to better help her patients each year by attending local and interstate trainings as well as scheduled monthly mentoring sessions with other practitioners in the industry.

What does a BIA Test involve?

The BIA Device I use in clinic is a TGA registered Medical Device called Quadscan.  This test is completed in a matter of minutes and is painless.  If you are wondering about the health of your cells, fluid distribution and unique body composition, then this is for you, it's for everyone!
